ABOUT AIM VOLLEYBALL PROGRAMS

PLEASE NOTE: Our AIM Volleyball members will play at levels competitive for their respective teams. Schedules may be altered based on each individual team’s ability.

AIM Juniors

Coaches Jay Hazel and Wesley Winstead

This is a Developmental level team for ages 10-12, tailored to the beginner player. Our Junior players learn the fundamental skills of the game, while gaining experience with fun, competitive play. Practices are held weekly at Bushy Fork Community Center. Juniors compete in two Rave (developmental level) Tournaments in Raleigh and two Regional Tournaments, not likely more than an hour’s driving distance.

AIM 13

Coaches Jay Hazel and Wesley Winstead

Our 13s are a Regional Plus level team. Practices are held twice weekly at Bushy Fork Gym. At this level, our players will be given the chance to play competitive volleyball while they refine their fundamental skills and continue to develop a solid learning strategy. This team will compete in five Regional Tournaments and one Regional Championship tournament. Our 13s will also compete in one multiday tournament (three days), such as the Monument City Classic in Richmond, VA.

AIM 14s

Coaches Charlie Oakley and Meredith Gilmore

AIM 14s is a Semi-National Team. Practices are three times weekly at Cedar Grove Ruritan Gym. At this level, our teams compete in the Quest for Excellence Tournament; three to four Regional Tournaments; the Monument City Classic in Richmond; one additional multiday tournament, such as the Virginia Tech Spring Fling in Blacksburg, VA; and the Carolina Regional Championships and Big South in Atlanta, GA.

AIM 15s

Coaches Nancy Cates and Liza Schimmelfing

This team is our Semi-National/National level team. This team practices three times weekly at Cedar Grove Ruritan Gym. At this level, teams compete in the Quest for Excellence Tournament; Monument City Classic in Richmond, VA; four to five Regional tournaments; Regional Championship; Capitol Hill Classic; Big South in Atlanta; and one additional multiday tournament such as the Virginia Tech Spring Fling in Blacksburg, VA.

AIM 15s National

Coaches Nancy Cates and Liza Schimmelfing

This is an Extended Season Team. Pending the success of the regular season and the determination of the coaching staff, team members would attend AAU Nationals in Florida, June 2019. An additional tryout would be held at the end of the regular season for interested players. This level would incur a fee in addition to the regular season fee.
